Hello, and my apologies for not updating my site in detail. I meant to do it this week but Chloe was in hospital for five days last week with viral pneumonia and motherhood comes before anything else. She is on the mend, thank God.

I am off to the USA and Canada within minutes but will update at the end of February. Australians basically need no update: the media has done it for me in relation to literacy, reading aloud, Mark Latham and me.

Certainly my heart rate has been up for many reasons over the last six weeks.

So now it’s back to real work after a divine summer.
